A lone rooster with super strength wanders Japan looking for the giant demon that killed his sister。 Along the way he fights other demons, has adventures, and befriends other animals such as a sea turtle with a grudge against seagulls。 THIS ROOSTER IS ALSO VERY HORNY。FIVE STARS

This first volume of Rooster Fighter is an anthropomorphic look into the rooster as hero, lover, fighter, empath。 He is the yakuza of poultry and the drawings are both familiar and unique in the manga world。

Truly, the most true-to-form satire I could've looked for in a Seinen。 I haven't been so interested in a nonsense manga series since Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (except that I'll probably keep reading this one)。 Truly, the most true-to-form satire I could've looked for in a Seinen。 I haven't been so interested in a nonsense manga series since Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (except that I'll probably keep reading this one)。 。。。more

I wasn't sure what to expect from Rooster Fighter vol。 1 but oh man, I did not expect something that went all out。 Yes, it's absurd, but the best kind of absurd。 The art is amazingly detailed。 The satire/tropes are masterfully executed。 The characters make you want to cheer for them, even the side characters you only see in one chapter (so far)。 The last chapter in the volume leaves you breathlessly wanting more。 Why did they have to introduce an amazing new character in the last few pages like I wasn't sure what to expect from Rooster Fighter vol。 1 but oh man, I did not expect something that went all out。 Yes, it's absurd, but the best kind of absurd。 The art is amazingly detailed。 The satire/tropes are masterfully executed。 The characters make you want to cheer for them, even the side characters you only see in one chapter (so far)。 The last chapter in the volume leaves you breathlessly wanting more。 Why did they have to introduce an amazing new character in the last few pages like that? It's one of the best first-volume cliffhangers I've seen in a while。 Rooster Fighter is for: fans of demon-fighting tales, fans of chickens, anyone who was ever involved in the Future Farmers of America, fans of detailed manga art, fans of turtles, fans of yakuza films, fans of toucans, and fans of hero stories。 (I received a free ARC of Rooster Fighter vol。 1 from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion。) 。。。more

A noble drifter with intense fighting skills and an awesome finishing move wanders modern Japan, fighting evil and protecting the downtrodden while searching to avenge an event from his tragic past。 He is a domestic roosterIt sounds like a one-joke gimmick, but the manga takes things just seriously enough, and is better than it has any right to be, mixing Wandering Samurai tropes with Attack On Titan's human kaiju and a mix of animal and human guest stars。 By the end of this volume the series is A noble drifter with intense fighting skills and an awesome finishing move wanders modern Japan, fighting evil and protecting the downtrodden while searching to avenge an event from his tragic past。 He is a domestic roosterIt sounds like a one-joke gimmick, but the manga takes things just seriously enough, and is better than it has any right to be, mixing Wandering Samurai tropes with Attack On Titan's human kaiju and a mix of animal and human guest stars。 By the end of this volume the series is moving away from a "monster of the week" stories to a larger narrative and recurring cast, something that makes it rise above other gag series like Way of the Househusband。 。。。more

Many thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read this one…Interesting premise…gross demons…great side characters…did not appreciate the scenes with the hen- they were a distraction from the story and seemed gratuitous, i。e。 we know he’s cocky, do you really need to make a bird seem manly? Eye-roll。 🙄🤣

This is easily the best Rooster hero manga I have ever read。 It's amazing。 It's fantastic。 It's hilarious, and the wait for Volume 2 will be interminable。 This is easily the best Rooster hero manga I have ever read。 It's amazing。 It's fantastic。 It's hilarious, and the wait for Volume 2 will be interminable。 。。。more

This was my first manga book, and I enjoyed it。 I found myself laughing at Rooster。 Rooster had a heart and fought for what was right。

OMG! is really the best review I can give of Rooster Fighter。 The beginning is hilarious。 It is exactly what you would expect for an adventure story。 Boy meets girl, but he has to go。 He is just too much man to be tied down。 Only substitute man with chicken。 I could not stop laughing。 It was very silly and I cannot wait to see where this story is going。5 stars。

Thank you to NetGalley and VIZ Media for a free review copy! This was something。 I'm not 100% sure that I really enjoyed it but it was definitely entertaining。 We follow a regular sized rooster around as he fights huge demons。 That's pretty much it。 I honestly don't know if I'll read more of this series。 It was just kind of boring。 Thank you to NetGalley and VIZ Media for a free review copy! This was something。 I'm not 100% sure that I really enjoyed it but it was definitely entertaining。 We follow a regular sized rooster around as he fights huge demons。 That's pretty much it。 I honestly don't know if I'll read more of this series。 It was just kind of boring。 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC!!!Okay so I’m only ten pages in and I’m giving it five stars because this reminds me of One Punch Man + Way of the Househusband put together and I am screaming and crying。 A regular ole rooster who is a tough guy a wanderer who saves humanity from monsters ?! Yes please。 I have hens and I had a rooster *shout out to my son Bucky I miss you my son* and they are such characters。 People really don’t give chickens enough credit, so yes this is Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC!!!Okay so I’m only ten pages in and I’m giving it five stars because this reminds me of One Punch Man + Way of the Househusband put together and I am screaming and crying。 A regular ole rooster who is a tough guy a wanderer who saves humanity from monsters ?! This is the most absurd manga I've read in a long time。 Maybe ever。And then to realize each chapter is connected to a Japanese proverb? Genius。 Note: If you ever read Chew and wanted more of Poyo, then read this。 This is the most absurd manga I've read in a long time。 Maybe ever。And then to realize each chapter is connected to a Japanese proverb?

Loved it more than I probably should

Wolle
